You've had a CCJ — what now?
A judgment is not the end of the road. There are set ways to pay, vary or challenge it.
Pay within a month
If you clear the full amount within 30 days of judgment, the CCJ is removed from the register entirely. Otherwise it stays on record for six years.
Ask to vary the payments
If the instalments set by the court are unaffordable, you can apply to vary them using a court form and a budget. Courts routinely reduce payments where the figures support it.
Challenge it if it's wrong
If you never received the claim, or you dispute the debt, you can apply to set the judgment aside. Act quickly — delay weakens the application.
