What it is

An Administration Order lets the county court collect one payment from you and distribute it to your creditors. It is only available in limited circumstances, including where you already have at least one county court judgment.

Who it tends to suit

  • You live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland
  • You have a county court or High Court judgment against you
  • Your total qualifying debt is under the court's limit

Benefits

  • The court handles distribution to creditors
  • Interest is generally frozen
  • Creditors named in the order cannot pursue you separately

Things to weigh up

  • Narrow eligibility
  • Recorded on the public register of judgments and on your credit file
  • Not suitable for larger debt levels

If you own your home

There is no equity release requirement, but the debt limits make this unsuitable for most homeowners.
